Temporary Leave of Absence

Well, it’s been a busy year so far. I’ve already made almost as many posts this year as all of last year, and we’re not even half-way done yet. However, I’m afraid I’ll be leaving for a while. I don’t know if anything momentous is going to happen, but don’t expect any new posts from me until after 22 June.

I hope everyone has a good few weeks!

GI Film Festival

The second annual GI Film Festival had 160 entries!

If you are unfamiliar with this particular festival (as I was), it was created in response to the constant anti-military bias of Hollywood productions. I recommend visiting their website, even if you aren’t going to be visiting Washington, DC in the near future; they have lots of videos and some merchandise for purchase to support their efforts!

The founders agree with me: the reason Hollywood war movies are tanking is not, as Hollywood supposes, that Americans don’t want to see movies about the war. It is that Americans don’t want to see movies where American troops are the bad guys!
